Apple apologized for the spam in your iCloud Calendar and promised “to detect and block the newsletter authors”

A few weeks ago the owners of iPhone, iPad and Mac are faced with an unusual spam problem affecting the calendar and sharing photos with iCloud. Due to the shortcomings of any Apple invitations, russiauses by mail (in ICS format), even from unknown senders are automatically added to the Calendar as a scheduled event. In Cupertino admitted his mistake and promised to solve the problem.

Users can choose one of three options: “Accept”, “Reject” and “Maybe.” However, regardless of their choice response indicating the receipt of the letter and activity of the iCloud account, could trigger a repeat wave of spam.

“We apologize to our users who received spam via Calendar invites. We are working on a solution to the problem: we compute and block suspected spammers and spam send out the invitations”, – commented on the situation in the Apple.

On iOS you can swipe left and select “Delete”, but for Mac owners there is no such option. To completely get rid of spam invitations to all Apple devices, it is recommended to change the settings on the iCloud website.

To do this, go to the website icloud.com with computer, choose Calendar, click on the gear icon in the lower left corner, go to “Settings” on the advanced tab to specify the receipt of invitations to events to your email address linked to iCloud account and click on the “Save” button. After that, any spam invitations came in the mail, will be automatically marked as spam.
