Animoji for iPhone X work without sensors TrueDepth

Animoji came along with iPhone X Sep 12, 2017. Apple has even developed a special sensor that the user can associate your face with Emoji.

Technical expert Marques Brownlee on his YouTube channel in iPhone X review concluded that animoji work fine, even if you close all the camera sensors TrueDepth. But if you close a normal camera, leaving open the sensors TrueDepth, animoji will not work. This is evident, since 11:40:

“I don’t see a clear reason why animoji not work on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Is Apple lied to us?” says Marquez.

Animoji uses technology ARKit, and, as is clear from the video, to track the person enough one of the front camera. But now iPhone X is the only smartphone front camera which works ARKit.

“ARKit works fine on the main chamber 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus. I guess animoji in the first place, use the normal camera and then come to the aid of the sensors Face ID for more information, like the detailed movements of the muscles of the face. But I have not noticed any deterioration of the animation after he closed the camera with your hand TrueDepth,” added Marquez.
