Analysts have called the iOS apps are more vulnerable than apps for Android

Recently security mobile device paid not less attention than the protection of desktop platforms, but usually the conversations are only about the threat of Android smartphones. Checkmarx experts and AppSec Labs claim that the gadgets on iOS even more vulnerable to hackers than on other phones OS.

Analysts analyzed data on vulnerabilities and the results of the study became for them a revelation, especially given the fact that Apple is constantly releasing “patches” that close holes in OS security.

The results showed that despite the best monitoring app for iOS more subject to unauthorized attack, in comparison with Android. Recently from the App Store more and more removed “infected” programs. According to researches, 40% of identified vulnerabilities were critical for iOS, while for Android the figure of such security breaches is 36%. Concrete figures are not talking, the only clarification concerned the average – the mobile app for iOS you can have about nine vulnerabilities, while Android programs under this factor below.

According to data, 27% of the total number of vulnerabilities are at the hacking of personal data, 23% – on the problematic identification and authorization. The rest of the problems is open access technical data and incomplete encryption data.

Experts are not the first time such seemingly paradoxical assertions. In 2013, SourceFire has released a report analyzing vulnerabilities over the past 25 years, according to which iPhone for the time had 210 vulnerabilities, which comprises 81% of all vulnerabilities among the mobile platforms. Android only 24 identified weaknesses, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry 14 — 11, with the result of 19%.

Then it was noted that this figure includes all security gaps since 2007 (when Android was not yet). But even if you take away 2007, the ratio of vulnerabilities iOS-Android will be 205 to 24, said the experts.
