All Ford vehicles 2017 model year will receive support for Apple CarPlay

Ford decided to equip their cars with automobile interfaces Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to integrate a multimedia system with smartphones running iOS and Android, respectively. These functions will get the car equipped with entertainment complexes SYNC 3.

Ford has confirmed that all cars (sedans, crossovers, SUVs, etc.). 2017 model year will come with branded entertainment system and will be compatible with services from Apple and Google with voice control.

Users of Ford vehicles will be able to use the iPhone 5 and newer, as well as devices with Android Lollipop or later for synchronization with the multimedia system of the car and access to your music, maps, messages, and various applications directly from the display of the car.

Ford also confirmed that upcoming machines F-150, Focus, Edge and Super Duty will continue to support the system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In the company’s management put emphasis on the fact that they are not going to offer this functionality to customers expensive models and configurations.

The first model with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto announced the updated crossover Escape. Later functions will also appear on other Fords, and the people who have already bought cars with SYNC 3, will get to the end of the year special updates.

Plus, the “fords” will receive the system SYNC Connect, which allows you to remotely control certain functions of machines. For example, to start the engine, unlock the Central locking, check the fuel level or to find a car in the Parking lot.
