According to Gartner, Apple is ahead of Samsung in sales of smartphones in the previous quarter

Apple for the first time in two years, overtook Samsung in sales of smartphones, according to data from research firm Gartner for the fourth quarter of 2016. The gap between the two manufacturers has never been so small.

According to analysts, Apple sold in the last quarter of 2016, more than 77 million smartphones, and its share in this market amounted to 17.9%. Samsung sold a little less than 77 million smartphones, received a share of 17.8%. The difference in sales is only 256 000 smartphones in favor of “Apple” giant. In the fourth quarter of 2015, for comparison, the Samsung was ahead of Apple for 12 million smartphones.

“Sales of smartphones are Samsung’s fall for the second consecutive quarter, said Gartner. – In the final quarter of 2016, sales of smart phones Samsung decreased by 8% and its market share over the past year fell by 2.9%”.
