Each year the number of subscribers in Russia, realizing the legitimate right to move from one cell provider to another (MNP) grows. At the moment the service transfer mobile numbers between operators in our countries have used more than 5.6 million people, said the head of the Ministry Nikolai Nikiforov.
The law on number portability entered into force on 1 December 2013. Each following year the number of requests for use of the MNP service increases: almost one million applications for the 2014 year, 1.61 million in 2015 and 2.29 million in 2016. These figures are cited head Nikolai Nikiforov at the annual event of the Ministry.
As previously reported by the Ministry of communications before March 30, 2016 the average Russian monthly transferred approximately 110,000 rooms, whereas in the period from April to early August last year, this figure is a monthly average was about 200,000 transfers.
The head of information-analytical Agency TelecomDaily Denis Kuskov explained earlier, the demand for the MNP from the Russians inability of the operators to pursue other marketing, except a decrease in price characteristics, entering new markets. “Companies have painted themselves into a corner and made the steps associated with a decrease in their profits. It was necessary to develop a different way”, — the expert adds.
According to statistics, subordinated to Rossvyaz FSUE ZNIIS (the operator of the database of ported numbers) in 2016 in an average month consistently transferred about 200,000 rooms. Thus, the rate of transfer of numbers in the last six months has been preserved.
The communications Ministry initially predicted that each year they will use the service about 3 million subscribers. However, the first million users of the service was reached in February of 2015.
