The other day, Internet giant Google announced the cancellation of its annual Google I / O 2020 conference, which was to be held from May 12 to May 14 in the California city of Mountain View. And today it became known that because of the coronavirus, the WWDC 2020 developer conference was also in jeopardy. The fact is that the Santa Clara County Department of Health, where Apple's headquarters is located, recommended that local organizations cancel or reschedule all planned mass events, to prevent the spread of the virus. And if Apple listens to the recommendations of the department, then, most likely, we will not surprise WWDC in the familiar format this year. Perhaps the company will indeed turn out to be a large-scale conference, but will replace it with an online presentation, as Google plans to do.
Note that Apple has not yet officially announced the date of the WWDC. But, as expected, it will take place in early June.
