Refusal of the international guarantee means that now in Russia in the authorized service centers only those iPhones that are certified for sale in the country will be accepted for repair under warranty. But models for the American and European markets in Russia will not be repaired for free. By the way, iPhone models certified in Russia (labeled EAC PCT) have a two-year warranty, while the standard international warranty expires in a year.
Apple does not comment on this decision. But perhaps the reason is simple – the company thus wants to stimulate customers to buy official “white” iPhones, which are significantly more expensive than “gray” ones.
