The guys from iFixit did not disassemble the Smart Battery Case for the new iPhone. Instead, they “sent” them for X-ray. X-rays showed what is inside the new accessories and how the built-in camera button works for quick shots. The button is the innovation of the Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 11 trio. It allows you to turn on the iPhone camera with one click, and when the Camera application is open, pressing the button allows you to quickly take a picture.
An x-ray showed that the camera’s power button works through a small circuit board with a flexible circuit inside the case. A circuit board connects the button to the Lightning port on the bottom of the chassis. The button is designed to avoid accidentally clicking in a pocket or bag.
Otherwise, the x-ray of the new covers is of little interest. Unless the picture shows an inductive charging coil and the battery itself at 10.9 Wh.
