2019 marks the beginning of the 5G era. Many manufacturers, including Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi, have already presented their smartphones with support for fifth-generation cellular networks. But Apple this time again decided not to rush, as in the case of 4G. The first iPhone with 5G support, according to insiders, will be released in 2020.

Even the fact that Apple will release an iPhone with support for fifth-generation cellular networks a year later than its competitors will not prevent it from leading the market for 5G smartphones. Moreover, this will happen already in 2020. At least that is what analysts at Strategy Analytics research firm are sure of. They believe that Apple will capture the lion's share of the emerging 5G market as early as 2020, after the launch of the iPhone 5G.
Of course, it may seem counterintuitive that Apple, which currently does not have 5G smartphones in its assortment, will be able to bypass the current market leaders represented by Samsung and Huawei. But having released three new iPhones with 5G support, it will be enough to keep the pace of transition of users to new smartphones so that Apple could become the leader of the segment next year. In the meantime, the South Korean company Samsung remains the undisputed leader in the 5G-smartphone market. But But in 2020, Apple and Huawei should become the segment leaders due to their dominance in China and the USA, in the two largest 5G markets.
