In countries where the market share of the brand above, than in Russia, the purchase price of Xiaomi smartphones may be significantly less, explains the General Director of the distributor ASBIS Vladimir Levakov. As a result, there are many online stores that sell machines at a reduced price. This leads to the fact that the official distributors who buy phones more expensive, are unable to sell them. In addition, it turns out that the revenue loses the manufacturer – the same he could sell more.
The status of the right holder of the brand will help “Smart orange” in the fight against counterfeiting and parallel imports, said the partner of Xiaomi. A person close to the leadership of one of the largest retail networks, says: any delivery must now be reconciled with them. If customs detects a shipment from an unofficial distributor, the “Smart orange” will have the right to go to court and detain the consignment at customs and make it re-export.
In addition to the “Smart orange” official distributors Xiaomi are also “Mixtec”, “Retentive distribution company” and “Consul”.
In January 2017 the Chinese Xiaomi took about 1.9% of the Russian market of smartphones in pieces. According to estimates of “Svyaznoy” in January-February, the share of Xiaomi in the Russian market amounted to about 2.5% in pieces and RUB. According MTS – 2.7 and 2.9% respectively.
