The administration Wikipedia decided to change the address of the page that the district court of the Astrakhan region ordered to block. Previously Roskomnadzor demanded from encyclopedias to delete this page.
After several days of discussion the participants of the online encyclopedia came to the conclusion that the source address should be a list of values rather than the article about the drug, the newspaper notes.
The article in question is called “Charas”. Roskomnadzor, citing the decision Chernoyarsky district court of the Astrakhan region, adopted in June of this year, demanded to delete the article, as it contains information about the methods of preparation drugs.
Wikipedia refused to remove the article. “”Wikipedia” is a universal encyclopedia, all information is taken with reference to different sources. In this article, all the information is taken from the UN website, all the academic sources. We discussed the situation, and the article decided to leave,” said Director of the nonprofit partnership “Wikimedia RU” (he supports Wikipedia in Russia) Stanislav Kozlovsky. He also said that the company is willing to take the risk of blocking of Wikipedia in Russia. “The purpose of Wikipedia is to collect knowledge and to convey them to the people. If Roskomnadzor considers that people knowledge is not needed, let blocks”,— he added.
The information contained in the article at the moment, he said, are taken from scientific sources and is a fairly “academic text”.
In response, North Korea has accused the online encyclopedia of ignoring the interests of users. Earlier the Ministry said that in the case of blocking of one page will be unavailable the entire resource because it works on the basis of the HTTPS Protocol that does not allow access restrictions to individual pages.
