Who needs iPhone SE? New 4-inch iPhone was more popular than iPhone 6s Android users

Last week Apple opened pre-orders for the new 4-inch iPhone SE. According to analyst firm Slice Intelligence, the device can not boast of demand among Internet users, along with flagship solutions company, but the smartphone has gained a large audience from the Android ecosystem.

iPhone SE managed to make a great contribution to the growth of the user base. According to the study, only 35% of buyers of new items in the previous two years have already owned any of the iPhone models. For comparison, the share of owners of previous iPhone models had 49% sold for the first weekend the iPhone 6s.

The researchers found that 16% of iPhone buyers SE were the owners of Android-based smartphones. Last fall, at the start of sales of iPhone 6s, the similar indicator was at the level of 10%. In other words, the owners of Android-devices 4-inch Apple smartphone proved more popular than the flagship model.

Analysts have described the portrait of the average buyer of the iPhone SE. Buyers of the device are most often men in the age group of 45 to 54 years. Only 39% of new iPhone owners SE received higher education, whereas for the iPhone 6 and 6s the figure was 46%.

The official presentation of the iPhone SE was held on 21 March 2016. In Russia pre-orders for the device opened on March 29, the official start of sales – on April 5. iPhone SE with 16 GB of memory was estimated at 37 990 rubles, and the 32-Gigabyte version costs 47 990 rubles. According to the online Apple store, Russian users have bought a new 4-inch iPhone for a few hours.
