What’s new in iOS 9: full list of changes

On Wednesday, Apple has opened access to its new operating system, iOS 9, intended for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch latest generation. Intelligent functions

New features of the iPad

  • Slide Over: quickly switch to the second program without leaving first; easily switch between programs Slide Over; support both Apple and third-party software.
  • Split View: work in two programs simultaneously; change the size of the Windows programs on your own: you can split the screen in half to use two programs or to allocate more space for one of them; support both Apple and third-party software.
  • Picture in picture: continue watching a video while using your favorite programs; support programs as Videos, Podcasts, FaceTime and “Video Safari” and third-party software.
  • Improve QuickType: Multi-Touch gestures for easy text selection on the iPad; quick access to tools editing text using the panel keyboard shortcuts on the iPad; support shortcut keys physical keyboard; support all flags Emoji (Unicode).

Built-in programs

  • Improved Maps: support for public transport routes, data stations, including information about inputs and outputs, timetables and routes of public transportation in major cities; find places around You by categories, such as “Food”, “Drink”, “Shopping”, “Entertainment”, and more; support Apple Pay are shown on maps of retail stores participating in the program; business cards of places, including information from Wikipedia about the cities and attractions.
  • Updated program Notes: add photos to Your notes from your Library or by using the built-in camera; create lists and mark completed tasks with one touch; sketch Your ideas with your finger directly on the screen; keep interesting objects from other programs using the menu “Share”.
  • The new program News: read Your favorite Newspapers, magazines and blogs, or choose from over a million different topics; excellent design, photo galleries, video, animation, and more; browse articles, chosen to reflect Your interests, in the “For you”. Find recommended channels and themes in the “review”. The more You read, the more personalized it becomes News program; easily share articles with friends or save articles to read later, even without Internet connection.
  • Improve Mail: using the advanced search function You can quickly find the necessary information using filtering by sender, recipient, subject or several categories at once; support for markup allows you to comment on the attached drawings or PDF files, add text, shapes, and a caption, and send it back right out of the Mail; easily save email attachments or when you create a new message, add files from iCloud Drive or other services to work with documents.
  • Improve Apple Pay and Wallet: Discover card support; support discount cards and store credit and debit cards; Express payments via double clicking the Home button from the lock screen by holding your finger on Touch ID.
  • The new iCloud Drive: easily find the files or view them in the new iCloud Drive by date, name, or tag, added on Your Mac; open files in any compatible program, or share them with friends; organize your folders and files; download iCloud in Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive, and select “Home screen”.
  • Improve CarPlay: plays a voice message, allowing You to hear friends and loved ones; full support for management with dashboard: tilt knob to scroll through lists or panning in Maps; support programs from automakers allows you to use features of the car directly from CarPlay.

Basic enhancements to the system

  • Increased battery life: the battery life increased by one hour; the definition of upside-down position to turn off the screen when not in use; power-saving mode allows you to increase the battery life of three hours.

Opportunities for corporate clients and educational institutions
