VTB24 has announced that payment services Samsung Pay and Apple Pay joined the 65,000 customers of the Bank, the volume of contactless payments have exceeded 800 million rubles. These figures have been achieved over the four months since the launch of payment services in Russia.
It is noted that currently about 45 000 people “tied” their cards to Apple Pay. The volume of payments made using this service has exceeded 600 million rubles To the service Samsung Pay connected 20 000 people, the turnover on the cards of VTB24 reached 220 million.
“The average monthly services connects about 20 000 people. Peak demand was fixed in the first days of the launch of the project, but now it is kept at a consistently high level, – said Maria Saenko, Deputy head of financial management of VTB24 clients. – According to our forecasts, in 2017 the total volume of operations for Samsung and Apple Pay VTB24 will reach 10 billion rubles, and the number of connected clients for the year will reach 200 thousand people”.
To date, about 50% of purchases via Apple Pay and Samsung Pay for Moscow and Saint Petersburg. In the top 5 by number of transactions also include Kazan, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk.
