Together with the final release of iOS 8.4.1, Apple has issued a public version of OS X update 10.10.5. The update is aimed at fixing bugs and improving the stability of our computers. Download it on a Mac running OS X Yosemite.
According to the cover note, OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 does not bring new features. Apple reports that the update “improves the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac”. Recommended for all Mac users.
In this update:
- Improved compatibility Mail to some mail servers.
- Fixed a bug in the program that prevented import video from GoPro camera.
- Fixed bug in QuickTime Player that prevented playback of Windows Media files.
In addition, OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 closes the vulnerability, discovered last month, the computer security specialist Stefan Esser. He found that the new environment variable DYLD_PRINT_TO_FILE in the dynamic link editor dyld allows you to access and modify any system files without entering the administrator password, and use that hole attackers.
Previous OS version, OS X Yosemite 10.10.4, was released on June 30. Apple tested the update from mid-April and in total has released six test assemblies. The goal of this release was to improve the stability of your PC.
OS X 10.10.5 is the latest update to Yosemite platform. The next release will include the operating system OS X El Capitan and will be released this fall.
