The tax police in the capital of Ukraine seized in the shops a large shipment of Apple gadgets that were imported into the country in violation of tax and customs legislation. On it informs Interfax with reference to the press service of the State fiscal service (SFS).
The tax confirmed that it comes to smuggling, and the operation was carried out within investigation of criminal proceedings under article 212 of the criminal code of Ukraine.
According to SFS, searches were conducted on the basis of court decisions in the framework of a criminal investigation. During the searches were seized 2,000 Apple gadgets, including more than 300 iPhone, iPad 45, 50 MacBooks and iMac computers, “smart” clock Apple Watch, iPod, set-top boxes Apple TV.
“All the seized goods had been imported into the territory of the country with violations of tax and customs legislation”, – stated in the message of the SFS. The total value of the seized more than 10 million USD or 30 million.
During the searches, tax staff has identified about 100 items Sony, Canon and Samsung (printers, TVs, game consoles), which, according to the official representatives of these companies also imported into the country without customs control.
Meanwhile, investigations are continuing. As previously reported sources of these Internet shops, the searches in this case, most likely, will continue and will affect not only small retailers but also large.
