During the announcement of quarterly results, Apple CEO Tim cook focused on Apple Pay. Payment system, according to the Director, continues to show significant growth.
Apple Pay was presented on 9 September 2014. The system is available on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac. According to the head of Apple, the number of payments through Apple Pay during the year increased substantially. In particular, in the first quarter of 2017 using this system was carried out on 450% more transactions than in the first quarter of last year.
In this case, Apple does not disclose revenue from its payment system and prefers not to reveal the user base of Apple Pay. Asked to reveal more detailed figures the head of the Corporation declined to name the service level indicators in monetary terms.
In the beginning of this year, Apple Pay was recognized as the most common in the United States. Today, the service operates in 15 countries, including Russia. In our country, the Apple Pay is earned at the end of last year; now it is supported by “Sberbank”, “Alfa-Bank”, “Tinkoff Bank”, “VTB 24”, “Raiffeisenbank”, “MTS Bank” MDM Bank “Saint Petersburg”, “Yandex.Money” and others.
In Russia also presents a competing payment system Samsung Pay. And in the next two weeks Google will launch Android Pay.
