The Ministry of communications has abandoned Microsoft Office in favor of a Russian analogue of “Maiofis”

The head of the Ministry Nikolai Nikiforov said that the Ministry in the framework of import substitution has purchased the office Suite application “Maiofis” Russian company “New cloud”. The Minister wrote in his Twitter microblog.

“We continue to work on import substitution used in #the Ministry of communications software — moving on @myoffice_ru”, – wrote Nikiforov.

According to the website of public procurement, Ministry of communications acquired 326 licenses at a cost of 6 100 rubles per unit total value of more than 2 million rubles.

“They bought “Maiofis Professional” is a complete set of applications for all platforms”, — said the representative of the company “New cloud” developing “Maiofis”. In particular, it includes a mobile application service.

“Maiofis professional” aims at replacing Microsoft Office: product includes text editors, spreadsheets, and presentations apps to manage mail, calendar, and contacts, as well as server collaboration mail server and data storage system.

Earlier it was reported that city authorities plan to completely replace in a government mail service from Microsoft for the Russian equivalent of “Maiofis”, which is also developed by the company “New cloud”.

“With regard to replacement Windows Office as such, it will be subsequent phases. Step by step we will change and office suites, and operating systems – all that is in the package Russian. We simply must still prepare for this users. We start with the fact that it is now extremely necessary and important from the point of view of communication, and what little bit easier to switch users”, — said the head of information technologies Department of Moscow Artem Ermolaev.

Among other government agencies that switched to domestic “Maiofis”, — the government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Multipurpose center of providing state and municipal services of Leningrad region.
