The Communists suspect Windows 10 in espionage

Chief lawyer of the Communist party faction in the state Duma Deputy Vadim Solovyov sent a request to the Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika with a request to conduct an audit of Microsoft and its new operating system Windows 10. On Tuesday according to “Izvestia”.

Solovyov notes that, in accordance with the user agreement, the operating system automatically collects and stores the history of visited web pages, passwords to the sites, the names of the access points to which the connected user, and passwords. The system also saves on the company’s servers the user’s coordinates, snippets of email correspondence, SMS, data calls, the data from address book and other personal data of the client.

While Microsoft, the license agreement, reserves the right to provide fragments of personal correspondence and other collected personal data of users by requests special services and to publish and use it in other ways, indicates the MP.

However, Russian law requires the collection and processing of personal data of Russian citizens were carried out only by organizations that enter in the register of personal data operators. And Microsoft in this list not included — therefore, in his opinion, the spread of Windows 10 on the territory of Russia illegally.

Given that many of the Russian state structure used in the Windows, a possible leak of classified information to foreign intelligence services. Actually it is about espionage, said Soloviev.

The Deputy asked to check Microsoft, as well as to take measures to block online resource which you can download Windows 10, before making a final decision on its admission to the Russian market.

Also Soloviev proposes to issue a warning to the Executive and legislative authorities on the use of this software on their devices.

Microsoft, in turn, assured that all information is collected only with the consent of the user.
