Tele2 launched in the Moscow metro calls over Wi-Fi

Tele2 subscribers can now call in the Moscow subway on Wi-Fi. To do this, the operator entered into an agreement with the provider of Wi-Fi in the capital’s transport “Maximalism”.

To start using the service, you need to download in App Store and Google Play the app “wifi calling”, then install and activate it on your phone. While in the subway, you need to connect to a wireless network MT_FREE and pass the authorization in the browser, then you can make or receive calls as usual.

Tele2 has launched a service “Wi-Fi calling” in the Moscow region in November last year. According to the company, for the three months since launch, the app was downloaded more than one million inhabitants of Moscow.

“Our app “Wi-Fi calling” that allows the passengers of the Moscow metro to stay connected regardless of the availability of the cell signal. To use the service is very simple: once installed the application, the subscriber can make and receive calls, and send SMS as usual in the network”, – said the commercial Director of Moscow macro-region Tele2 Anton Kondratov.

Tele2 now provides voice services and high speed Internet at 60 underground stations of the Moscow metro.

In November last year, MTS also launched in the Moscow region the technology of voice traffic over Wi-Fi. Technology allows you to call in places where it is difficult passage cell signal but have wifi connection, for example, in the basement, in the subway trains. Payment of services is in accordance with the usual fare of the operator.
