Sony no longer allows use of their waterproof submersible

On the page of the support site of Sony there is information, according to which the manufacturer no longer recommends the use of their waterproof gadgets underwater.

Sony is the most ardent supporter of the idea of waterproof smartphones. Almost all flagship devices from the manufacturer in recent years can boast of such protection.
Standard IP68 allows you to immerse them in a water depth of 1.5 m for 30 minutes. This applies to new products flagship of Xperia Z5.

But, as it turned out, the situation has changed somewhat. The main innovation in the policy of Sony — a ban on the use of smartphones under water. According to the instructions, they are still able to withstand immersion in up to 1 m without any consequences. But to take pictures or shoot video underwater, the company no longer permits.

On the company’s website States that the process of checking devices on the moisture occurs in the laboratory. The device is immersed in a container with fresh water to a depth of 1.5 m and after 30 minutes remove it from there. All this time the smartphone is in sleep mode.

The manufacturer stressed that it cannot guarantee the efficiency of the device after the jump into the pool with a smartphone in your pocket. In addition, underwater smartphone can not be used, including for doing photography. It looks a bit strange, considering that earlier Sony is actively promoting such opportunities in the form of benefits for its products over the competition.
