Samsung introduces the Galaxy Tab S2, which is thinner and lighter iPad

Samsung has officially unveiled two flagship tablet Galaxy Tab S2 with a screen of 9.7 and 8 inches. The thickness of the larger model is 5.6 mm – 0.6 mm thinner than the iPad Air 2. The 9.7-inch version of the Galaxy Tab S2 weighs 389 grams, 8 inch – 265 g, 437 g of the iPad Air 2 and 331 grams the iPad mini 3.

Two versions of the South Korean tablet features a Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. The device is based on an 8-core processor with a clock frequency of 1.9 GHz and 1.3 GHz for the senior and Junior models, respectively.

The new Samsung has got 3 GB RAM, 32/64 GB internal, 8MP main camera and 2.1-megapixel front facing PV panel, a thumbprint scanner and the microSD slots. The battery capacity of the senior model is 5870 mAh, Junior — 4000 mAh.

Devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop and can boast an 8-megapixel main camera and 2.3 MP for selfie. The tablet has a built-in fingerprint reader.

Both devices will come with pre-installed software Microsoft: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note, users are also provided with free 100 GB of disk space for 2 years.

Galaxy Tab S2 will be available in versions with Wi-Fi and/or Wi-Fi+4G, starting from August 2015. The cost of new products not yet announced.
