Samsung has patented a phone design iPhone X, only without the “monobrow”

Apple’s approach to design in the iPhone X has one drawback – too big a cutout frameless screen.

In the patent, discovered edition of LetsGoDigital described a method of placing a flexible OLED screen, holes for camera, speakers and other sensors. It shows how such a design can allow to use entire screen area to display content. New Samsung patent suggests that the company hopes to actually embed video and other sensors in the screen itself.

The Korean manufacturer describes two technology options. First – a few small holes in the top of the display allocated for the front camera, light sensor and approximation, and dynamics.

The second design will be almost similar Essential Phone from Andy Rubin, the author of the Android. This option assumes that all necessary sensors are built into a small cutout.

Another key element of the design of the iPhone X is a system of gestures, which allowed Apple to remove the Home button. Samsung seems to have no such plans.
