The new South Korean smartphone barely surpassed its main rival the iPhone 7. Moreover, despite the difference release in six months, only one configuration of Galaxy S8 was the performance of “Apple” competitor.
As you know, Samsung Galaxy S8 came with two processors – the Snapdragon and Exynos 835 8895. Models with chips from Qualcomm, the company is forced to supply China and the United States. Because of the patents for CDMA and TD-SCDMA, which practically guarantee the monopoly of Qualcomm in these markets.
Both processors are using 10-nm process technology developed by Samsung. Probably, the owners of Galaxy S8 will not notice the difference between the two chips. However, the differences in performance do exist.
In the benchmark AnTuTu variant of the Galaxy S8 with Exynos 8895 scored 174 155 points, ahead of the permanent leader of the rating of the iPhone 7 Plus. However, the version of the flagship Samsung, based on Snapdragon 835 showed much more modest results in 162 101 that is substantially below the result of the “Apple” of the flagship 173 110 points.
The announcement of the Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy S8 S8+ took place this week. The device is equipped with a “limitless”, curved at the edges with displays (5.8 and 6.2 inch), iris scanner, 12-megapixel camera, support for virtual assistant Bixby, protection against dust and moisture standard IP68.
For Galaxy S8 manufacturer requests 54 990 rubles, Galaxy S8+ — 59 990 rubles. The start of sales in Russia is scheduled for 28 April.
