Sales of mobile devices operating system iOS has exceeded the overall sales of Windows-based computers, said on Wednesday the analyst firm Andreessen Horowitz.
Over the last 12 months by July 2015 Apple was ahead of Microsoft on the number of issued computing devices based on its own operating system, analysts say, who analysed the sales of competing corporations.
In April-June 2015 Apple sold a record 57.9 million iOS devices (of which 47 million are iPhone sales, 10.9 million — iPad). Analysts note that the annual volume of sales of Android devices exceeded PC in March 2012. The number of operating personal computers on the Windows platform, they are estimated at 1.5 billion devices, according to Andreessen Horowitz partner, the amount of working Android devices has already exceeded this figure, and iOS may well overcome a similar milestone.
