The representative of the Pension Fund of Russia reported that the Fund has already tested the computers on the “Elbrus”, were happy with them and decided to purchase two of them. The larger the purchase, the Pension Fund can only be done once, will work with previously acquired.

Processors “Elbrus” manufactured by MCST. At the end of April 2015 on the MCST website opened taking orders for prototypes of computers on the basis of “Elbrus”. The first computer cost about 200 000, the first batch of 50 copies already sold out and we are preparing a second, said assistant Director MCST marketing Konstantin Trushkin.

If you receive orders for a batch of 100 000 computers, the price of a single device with a monitor may be about 70 000. Brovko admits now cost PC based “Elbrus” about one and a half times higher than foreign ones, because of the modest scale of production. But as it grows, the price can be lower than the competition. Modern foreign processors more powerful than the Russian, but for normal office work such power is not needed, said Brovko.
