Rostec: the FSB will listen YotaPhone – otherwise it can be used by terrorists

Sergey Chemezov, CEO of rostec Corporation, which unites more than 700 industrial organizations, in an interview with “Vedomosti” reported on the future of the smartphone YotaPhone. According to the head of Russian security services will have direct access to information on a mobile device.

“The FSB will have access. We have no right otherwise to sell on the market the phones, otherwise it can be used by terrorists, criminals, – said Sergey Chemezov. According to him, the main thing is that the phone is not bugged “competitors”.

“The main thing is to not listen to competitors. It is more concerned about the buyers and not the FSB. For example, when the YotaPhone went on the American market, the NSA was asked to disclose the source code. And we have the same thing. Haven’t done this before, and now finally entered the law, as all civilized countries,” he said.

I must say that competitors, to which appeals Chemezov, has banned access to information on smartphones for special services. Apple, for example, implemented in the operating system iOS 8 encryption. Prior to this, the company helped law enforcement agencies to receive data from smartphones, if they provided a warrant.

It is known that the Ministry of justice require Apple to introduce in the code a backdoor loophole that allows the Bureau to access the systems and collect data. However, Tim cook is strongly opposed, he said privacy is a “basic human right”.

“None of us should accept that the government, or company, or anyone else had access to our personal information. This is a basic human right. We all have a right to privacy, and we need to fight for it”, – said the head of Apple.
