Roskomnadzor ordered the Dating service Badoo FSB to disclose user data

Roskomnadzor has registered the Dating service Badoo in the registry of organizers of information dissemination (ARI). Now the company will be obliged to store data about user activity and provide them at the request of the Federal security service. Otherwise, the service will be blocked in Russia.

According to data from the site controller, Badoo Trading Limited (which owns badoo.com) was registered in the register of 24 April 2017. As RBC notes, ORI, include e-mail services, instant messengers and other forums enabling you to exchange messages online. In the registry already registered e-mail clients Mail.ru Group and “Yandex” cloud service “Yandex.Disc” the social network “My world”, “My circle”, “Vkontakte”, the Dating site Mamba, messenger “Агент@Mail.ru”.

According to the law “On information, information technologies and information protection” ORI must notify Roskomnadzor about the beginning of implementation activities, as well as store on the territory of Russia information about the facts of reception, transmission and processing of voice information, written text, images, sounds, video or other electronic messages to users within six months from the date of completion of implementation of such actions. This information they must provide on request to the competent authorities, such as the FSB. In the case of non-compliance services can be denied, i.e. blocked on the territory of Russia.

From 1 July 2018, by entering the so-called “law of Spring”, by which the shelf-life of facts communications for ORI will increase to one year. In addition, the services in up to six months will be required to keep recordings of the calls, content of messages and other content submitted by users. If the delivery and processing of electronic communications uses additional coding company must provide decoding information to the FSB.

At the request of the company, Badoo is the world’s largest social network for meeting new people. According to the official site, the service was 345 million users worldwide, monthly active audience of 60 million people.

April 10, Roskomnadzor has taken the decision to block the online radio Zello, which has not sent to the office of information for inclusion in the register ORI. In response, the representative called Zello the requirements of Roskomnadzor “absurd and impossible”.
