Polyera Wove Band: world’s first smart bracelet with a flexible display

Many companies are working to create a flexible display, including Apple and Samsung, but still no one was able to offer a solution suitable for mass production at a reasonable price.

In 2005 the U.S. was founded, the company Polyera. One of the directions of its work was the creation of the control circuits of organic thin-film transistors for OLED displays and E-Ink. Some time ago, was demonstrated OLED display, which uses the development of Polyera, and this week the company announced its first consumer product — “smart” bracelet Band Wove.

In the announcement indicates that the technology used in the wearable device was the result of ten-year programme of research and development. It allows you to bend all the components of the display, and, like the E-Ink screens, uses very little power.

Interested partners can obtain samples of the Band Wove in December of the current year and the period of appearance of the device on the market called the summer of 2016. Technical data about the new product is not yet available.
