Operators doubt the readiness of the equipment for data storage according to “the law Spring”

“Beeline” and “MegaFon” has sent an appeal to manufacturers of storage equipment traffic in the “law of Spring” to provide the technical characteristics of this equipment. This is reported by “Vedomosti”, citing three people close to the operators.

Operators are asked to provide the hardware specifications and information about necessary software. Also they were asked to provide the device for testing, to test equipment before entry into force.

According to them, letters were sent to such companies, as “MFI soft”, “NORSI-TRANS”, “Base lab”, ntsi and “Special technology”. They produce equipment of the system of operative investigative activities (SORM) and the meeting with the participation of the FSB in March expressed a willingness to produce equipment for law enforcement, said one of the interlocutors edition.

Two sources of the newspaper said that in response to your letter operators have not yet received any information about equipment or samples themselves. They suggest that the equipment necessary for the execution of the law, not even developed.

In “the Megaphone” have told that the operator was concerned about the lack of technical requirements to equipment for the execution of the “Spring law”. Without these acts, the operators will not be able to plan the purchase of equipment and to prepare for the entry into force within the prescribed period, the company said.

In the “Beeline” confirmed that the operator is applied to some equipment manufacturers to provide information about the technical solution and its cost, which could be used for law enforcement. Specific company said.

Remaining before the entry into force of the law will not have enough time to prepare, because now the “Beeline” can not test the necessary equipment and has no idea about how to enforce the law, said representatives of the operator.

In this regard, Beeline supported proposals for the postponement of the entry into force of the requirements of the “law of Spring,” added the company representative. The bill on the postponement of the entry into force of the requirements to keep phone calls and Internet traffic of users from 2018 to 2023 in the summer of 2016 in the state Duma introduced Senator Anton Belyakov.
