MTS launched LTE network in the Moscow metro

MTS has announced the launch of the first 4G LTE network on the territory of the Moscow metro. The network is already available in the lobby, on the escalators and the platform of the station “Troparevo”, and allows you to use mobile Internet at speeds up to 150 Mbps.

The operator provides access to the 4G network technology LTE-1800, which, as noted, provides high-quality coverage of places with complex architecture, such as lobbies and escalators of the subway stations. The solution LTE-1800 allows you to work on LTE almost 1000 users of smartphones from manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, Huawei, HTC, LG, Sony, ZTE. It is noteworthy that LTE on 1800 MHz frequency provides the ability to connect to the network of the fourth generation iPhone 5.

In July 2015 MTS also launched on Taganka and the Sokolnicheskaya line of the Moscow subway mobile Internet at speeds of up to 42 Mbps, and enhanced coating on the line and the stations on the circle line due to the launch of the first in Russia base stations of the third generation UMTS 900 in the subway. The operator gives subscribers access to the network at stations and stages with special radiating cable, which provides seamless transfer of Internet data and no need to switch your smartphone or tablet between base stations, which can lead to breakage of the online sessions.

Currently the equipment MTS voice installed on almost all stations of the Moscow metro. In St. Petersburg MTS provides coverage of 3G networks all stations of the underground and launched a 4G LTE network at a number of metro stations North of the capital.
