MegaFon nullifies the cost per minute within network and increases the packet of Internet traffic to compete with Tele2

From 2 November “MegaFon” will no longer be taken into account in batch tariff plans “All inclusive” (all five of them) the so-called on-net calls, i.e. calls to their number. Minute of conversation, for which you charge a fixed fee, will now only emerge from calls to external; and within the network can call without restrictions.

According to a press release the operator, MegaFon refreshes the range of tariffs for smartphones “All inclusive”, allowing its subscribers to communicate within the network for free. The changes affect all regions of Russia and all five of tariffs.

“More than half of calls from our customers who use the tariff line “All Inclusive”, we have to numbers of MegaFon. From 2 November we zero out the cost of such calls, so that clients could communicate with family and friends without any restrictions”, — said marketing Director of “MegaFon” Leonid Savkov, whose words are reported.

In addition to free on-net calls MegaFon increases the Internet traffic. In particular, on the most popular tariff line “All inclusive M” size is available Internet traffic will increase from 4 to 5 GB, which you can now spend in trips to Russia.

Tariff line “All inclusive” was introduced to the market in 2012 and is the most popular in “the Megaphone”: it is a quarter of clients. The proposal is for the owners of smartphones, because it allows for a modest monthly fee to choose a package duration of calls, SMS and Internet traffic.

Actions “the Megaphone” it is logical ahead of the fourth market player, says a person close to the major mobile operator. If, for example, the subscriber of “MegaFon” will decide to move to Tele2, it would make sense only under the condition that so will all of his family and friends – or for all calls to them he will pay.

Now all marketing activities of the big three in some way connected with access to the Moscow market of Tele2, says the analyst iKS-Consulting Maxim Savvatin. But in the future, they are unlikely to be much to dump: they have strong market positions, while Tele2, to oust them, it will take time.
