MegaFon claims that its networking smartphones run on 15% longer in offline mode

Smartphones connected to the network operator “MegaFon”, longer work offline. This was stated by the representatives of the company, who spoke about the introduction of “smart” technological solutions in the LTE/4G+, which allows to reduce the battery consumption.

Applied technology allows to save that part of the charge that smartphones and tablets supporting LTE/4G+ spend when working on the network for mobile data. The company claims to have set up the network so that the mobile after information transfer faster switched to the standby mode when the power consumption is minimal.

“Implementing this technology is especially important and convenient for our digital subscribers using gadgets more often to access the Internet than for calls. With the development of 4G/LTE we have seen a steady growth of Internet traffic, — said Sergei Kim, head of the regional branch of “MegaFon”. Technical solution allows subscribers to save up to 15% of the battery of the smartphone during the day and longer to be connected”.

The company noted that the battery saving mode for all devices that support 4G+/LTE, with batteries, smartphones, tablets, and some models of routers. The solution is implemented in the 4G/LTE on the territory of the Sakhalin, Amur, Irkutsk, the Jewish Autonomous region, TRANS-Baikal, Primorye and Khabarovsk territories, the republics of Buryatia and Sakha (Yakutia).

To save even more power the operator has proposed to adjust screen brightness, set sleep mode, turning off data transfer via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and other functions that are not used during the day. If necessary, help switching function power-saving mode.
