iOS 10 for two weeks installed 43% of users of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Two weeks ago, Apple began distributing a new version of its mobile operating system, called iOS 10. Fresh data collected by analysts Mixpanel, indicate that the new OS already installed on 43% of compatible devices. During the first 24 hours iOS 10 was set to 14.5%.

iOS 9 still holds the title of most popular operating system among users of the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, its share is 52%. About 4.5% of users prefer iOS 8 and older versions of the OS.

Analysts point out that iOS 10 lags behind the speed of adaptation from its predecessor. iOS 9 has been installed on 50% of compatible devices after a week of release. This may be due to the higher hardware requirements: the owners of smartphones iPhone 4s, iPad mini and iPad 2, released in 2011 and 2012, respectively, didn’t get a chance to update to iOS 10.

iOS 10 became available for developers in June of this year, while end users got the ability to upload the final version on September 13. In any case, before drawing conclusions about the popularity of the new OS, wait for official data from Apple.
