Intel announced the next generation of processors called Ice Lake

21 August, Intel will present the processors eighth-generation Coffee Lake. Despite the fact that the new product is known very little, the developers have announced the release of the next series of processors.

The company confirmed that in 2018-2019 will be presented a new generation of processors, code-named Ice Lake. The new product will be created using 10 nm+ process technology.

“Series processors Ice Lake are the receivers of the 8th generation of chips Intel Core. These processors use industry-leading 10 nm+ process technology”, — noted in a press-service of the company.

Currently, Apple’s MacBook uses the Intel Kaby Lake presented earlier this year. Next on the list — a series processors Cannon Lake, which will be the first to use a 10 nm+ process technology. Also next week Intel will present the processors Coffee Lake for desktop systems.

A management decision for Intel to announce processor Ice Lake before it was released the first microchips on the basis of 10 nm+ the process seems counterintuitive. Moreover, informed KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (Ming-Chi Kuo) reported that the next-generation MacBook Pro and iMac will be powered by Coffee Lake. Thus, the appearance of processors Ice Lake will have to wait quite a long time.
