In iOS 11.2 Beta 2 added possibility to transfer funds via iMessage

The second beta iOS version 11.2 introduced a feature Apple Pay Cash. You can use it to send and receive money via iMessage, but also to pay for purchases virtual card Apple. It is reported 9to5Mac.

The function still works in the US and when you use two-factor authentication to sign in to Apple ID. The transfers work with all credit and debit cards added to Apple Pay. When you first receive funds, the user is prompted to add a virtual card to Apple Pay Cash. Its capabilities compared with conventional maps are limited. It can help to pay for their purchases via Apple Pay. To withdraw cash from the virtual card can not, it will have to transfer money to a Bank account.

Apple Pay is Cash was first shown at WWDC 2017. The function was to be a part of iOS 11, but Apple released Apple Pay system without Cash. Remittances via iMessage will be available in iOS 11.2 and watchOS 4.2.
