If you ask Siri on the Apple Watch on the weather, may crash

At the end of last week, the Apple Watch noticed a strange error. If you ask Siri something like: “What’s the weather like?” or “How many degrees?”, this will cause your device to reboot.

Error occurs in LTE and GPS versions of the Apple Watch Series 3 and older models of smart watches, running watch OS 4.1. But the problem is not all users. Now the problem complain device owners in the United States, Canada and Europe.

It is not known what exactly causes the failure. The app “Weather” works fine, and restart and reset the Apple Watch does not resolve the problem. User forum MacRumors writes:

“It’s not a reboot. Error occurs in the Siri or “Weather”, but not in all watchOS. A reboot takes more time.

Error appeared today. Yesterday when I asked Siri: “What’s the weather today?”, it worked fine. I’m sure Apple will resolve the problem quite quickly.”

If you ask Siri about the weather for tomorrow or next week, it will not fail. Error arises only when the question about current weather conditions. A reddit user suggests that this is due to the transition to winter time.

“I think I know what the problem is. This is due to the transition to winter time. If you ask about the weather in Saskatoon or Saskatchewan, it would work fine. But if you try to see the weather in Winnipeg or Manitoba – the device will reboot”.

In the near future Apple will fix this bug, so best not to ask Siri on Apple Watch about the weather conditions.
