How to run Mac OS X on a PC with Windows 10, 8, 7 and XP

macOS – advanced and at the same time, robust operating system that many PC users chose Windows 10 instead. Unfortunately, to install a platform on the Apple computer from another manufacturer is not easy. The easiest and most convenient way to boot your virtual machine.

Requirements to install macOS on a Windows PC

To install Mac OS X (10.5 and above) on a Windows PC will need the virtual machine. You can use VMWare, which allows running the operating system macOS in a Windows environment. As for hardware requirements, they are as follows:

  • 8 GB of RAM.
  • Intel Core i3, i5 or i7.
  • 128 GB on the hard disk.

These characteristics are Advisory in nature. On computers with weaker hardware macOS will start, but will run slower and longer to boot up.

Applications required for installation of Mac on your Windows PC or laptop

Besides the above mentioned VMWare Workstation, you will also need a tool called Unlocker. It allows you to install Apple operating system on a virtual machine. You can download the program at this link.

How to install Mac OS X on Windows

Step 1. Install the latest version of VMWare Workstation.

Step 2. Unzip Unlocker 2.0.8 and run as administrator the file “win-install.cmd”.

Step 3. After launching it, wait until the patch is installed and unlocks the ability to install macOS in VMWare. Open VMWare and create a new virtual machine (automatic method). In the window that appears, select “Apple Mac OS X”. In the list, specify the Version of Mac OS X 10.7 or any higher version.

Step 4. After clicking “Next” virtual machine will be created. In order for macOS to work properly, you must configure the hardware. To do this, select “Edit Virtual Machine Settings”.

Step 5. Click “Add” then double click “Next” and select “Use an Existing Virtual Disk” and click “Next”. Now choose the downloaded image of the operating system and press “Finish”.

Step 6. After completed all settings, press the blue start button and follow the instructions on the screen to install OS X.
