Today, the release of the long awaited jailbreak tool compatible with Apple TV fourth generation. This instruction describes the procedure of hacking tvOS 9.1-10.1 through programs LiberTV and Cydia Impactor.
Before you start to jailbreak Apple TV 4, note that the solution is in the testing phase. While a jailbroken device is missing the Cydia store. How to jailbreak Apple TV 4 with LiberTV and Cydia Impactor
Step 1: connect the Apple TV 4 with a USB cable.
Step 2: Download for PC IPA file of the application LiberTV on this page and tool Cydia Impactor here.
Step 4: Run Cydia Impactor that you downloaded in the previous step.
Step 5: In the applications window, select your Apple TV connected to your PC.
Step 6: Now drag the IPA file LiberTV on window Cydia Impactor.
Step 7: the Program will prompt you to enter settings for your Apple ID account. First select your account, then the password.
Step 8: If a window appears with the text Apple Developer Warning, click OK.
Step 9: Cydia Impactor will prepare all the necessary data and upload the IPA file with jailbreak on your Apple TV. Now you can disconnect the Apple TV from the computer and connect it to the TV via HDMI.
Step 10: On the home screen Apple TV, you will see a new app liberTV. Run it.
Step 11: On the page select options place a checkmark in its sole discretion. To use all the features of the jailbreak, it is recommended to mark all items.
Step 12: Click Do it! at the bottom of the screen and wait. The application has to perform jailbreak of your Apple TV.
Step 13: In this step, you will either fail and restart your Apple TV, you will see the message on successful completion. In the first case, run the application again liberTV and try again. If at first you don’t succeed, try again. Usually everything turns out with 2-3 times.
Step 14: After you see the message about the successful jailbreak “Success! Your TV has been liberated!”, you can use Apple TV. To connect to the device via SSH using Dropbear to download applications and work with files.
Note that the jailbreak is semi-tethered works like liberTV. Therefore, after each reboot of the Apple TV you need to re-run the utility to put the gadget in jailbreak mode.
