In this situation the iPhone and iPad, when at the beginning of the year, Apple locked the tool to check the activation lock status of iCloud. However, there is a workaround to check activation lock on iPhone and iPad.

Step 1: Go to the support website getsupport.apple.com and select iPhone.

Step 2: After this, you will see many options from them to choose one that is associated with the hardware aspect of the device. It may be “Repairs and physical damage” or “Battery, power and charging”.

Step 3: Next, select in this category, such as “Buttons not working”, “Quality display or screen”, etc.

Step 4: Here again will be given several options from which to choose “Sending to repair”. After this field appears for entering the serial number, IMEI or MEID. In this case, you must enter the IMEI.

Note: If this item does not appear, go back a few steps back and try to select another option. If the option is still unavailable, go to the site using any us proxy server.

Step 5: Enter the IMEI code. The service will display the activation lock status of your device corresponding to the entered number.

It is worth noting that this trick does not always work. In some cases, the user is prompted to provide the credentials of the Apple ID to check the activation lock of the device. For those who are planning to purchase a used device, it is simply impossible.
