In the second quarter of 2017 in Google Play downloaded 135% more apps than the App Store, but iOS users still spend more money.
A new study by Analytics company App Annie, for the second quarter of 2017 showed that the number of downloads on Google Play exceeded 15 billion, which is 135% higher than in the App Store. However, the App Store is still the most profitable app store and on this indicator is ahead of Google Play by 95%.
Analysts attribute the success of Google Play with the increasing number of smartphones in emerging markets such as India and Brazil. The latter has already overtaken the United States in the number of downloads. The App Store consistently holds the title of most profitable store because of the closed nature of iOS and a larger number of paying customers.
