Gmail increased the limit on mail attachments up to 50 MB

Gmail has doubled the limit for email attachments. Users can now handle messages up to 50 MB. However, this is only for incoming mail.

The Google accounts are still unable to send each other videos and presentations of large size. To sender restrictions remained the same. The maximum size of attachments in the message, as before, is 25 MB.

To transfer files larger Google recommends to use its own cloud service, which supports files up to 5 TB.

With Google Drive, users of Gmail can send files of any volume loaded in the remote repository, as a matter of fact in this case is sent not the actual file and link to it. If the total size of file attachments larger than 25 MB, Gmail automatically enlists it in the form of links to Google Drive.

The innovation with the increase of the limit to 50 MB affects all Gmail users and will be available in the coming days.
