Apple is doing everything to restore competition in the market of Russia, so the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) may mitigate the punishment. It is reported TASS with reference to the head of the anti-cartel Department Andrey Tenisheva.
“With Apple we have a dialogue and understand. This, of course, affect the mitigation of punishment. But, in this situation the main thing not it, and what the company is doing everything necessary to restore market competition and prevent possible violations of Antimonopoly legislation”, — he said.
The head of Department noted that on 14 March, the FAS can make a final decision in the case of coordination Apple prices on iPhone 6s, then the Agency will determine whether to initiate a new case about the price of iPhone 7.
“I hope that on March 14 we will make a decision (the final decision in the case of the iPhone 6s and instituting proceedings about the iPhone 7). All the necessary prerequisites exist”, said Tenishev.
The FAS Russia has tentatively concluded that Apple’s guilt in coordinating the prices of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The company has time to argue or disagree with the decision of the Commission.
Earlier the head of Federal Antimonopoly service Igor Artemyev said that the Agency does not see from Apple serious counteraction to investigation, “unlike Google”. Deputy head of the FAS Andrey tsarikovskiy also reported that the FAS is ready to discuss with Apple settlement agreement in the case of coordination of prices for smartphones.
