FAS has no doubt that Apple will open a service center in Russia until may 1

The head of the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) Igor Artemyev expressed his confidence that Apple will fulfill the order and will open an official service center in Russia within a specified time. According to the decision of the Agency the company should do so before 1 may.

Artemyev said that the service issued an instruction to open a single Apple service center in Russia. “They build this center, for us it is extremely important that. I have no doubt that they fulfill this requirement. The meaning of our conversations with this company to discuss, I am absolutely convinced that they will. Will do, as I said, until may 1,” said the head of FAS reporters.

FAS filed a case for maintenance against Apple in December of last year. In particular, the Agency received a citizen’s complaint that was not able to replace the screen iPhone 6 Plus in the service center – he offered to replace the phone for a new one and pay for it. He said that Apple does not provide delivery to Russia of these parts.

The Antimonopoly office concluded that the actions of the Russian representation Apple is the only supplier of products to Russia — contains signs of violation of the law on protection of competition by failing to ensure the possibility of use in the course of its service life.

At the end of February, the FAS has ordered Apple to open one service center in Russia until the end of April.
