American Corporation Apple considers Russia a banana Republic. This opinion was expressed by head of the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) Igor Artemyev in the program “Opinion”.
The iPhone maker has been conducting business in Russia in obsolete practices which no longer exist in developed countries and in civilized markets, said the head of FAS. This applies to Apple and Google.
According to him, Apple is not enough that overprice their products and still do not want to organize a service center in Russia. If buyers purchased an iPhone in 60 000 roubles, and it broke, you cannot change the item broken, because Apple does not supply to Russia of spare parts.
This should not be, and the FAS will have to deal with it.
FAS warned Apple that if there is no open service center in Russia until may 1, the company is waiting for the huge penalties, said Artemyev.
Earlier FAS initiated a case against “Apple Rus”, the Russian “daughter” Apple, on the complaint of the citizen Dmitry Petrov, who in 2016, Apple refused to replace the damaged display on the iPhone 6 Plus due to the lack of deliveries to Russia of spare parts and offered to replace the smartphone with an additional charge.
The Antimonopoly authority established that the actions of the Russian representation Apple contains signs of violation of the provisions of the law on protection of competition by failing to ensure the possibility of using “Apple” products in the course of its service life.
The FAS is also investigating Apple for the fact of price fixing with retailers.
