Facebook launches new button “like” with seven reactions

Social network Facebook has decided to diversify the “like” button several options that reflect the emotional nuances of the familiar reactions of the user. To this end, the company with headquarters in California, announced the start of the test the corresponding functionality in the segment of the Internet in Ireland and Spain.

Traditional like will remain unchanged, but when clicking on it users will also be able to choose one of seven smileys that reflect the basic emotions from viewing entries in the news feed. Palette of responses the user has replenished with six new items: “angry,” “sad,” “wow” “haha,” “yay” and “love.”

In September, the founder of social network mark Zuckerberg has announced the development of functionality for the expression of alternative emotions to the posts in the news feed. “I think people asked about the Dislike button for many years. But today is a special day when I can say that we are working on a similar feature and soon it will appear in the social network,” said he.

According to him, the standard button “like” doesn’t allow the audience to adequately respond to a number of publications, because it is not possible to Express sympathy or disappointment. “Pushing “I like”, when one talks about cultural and social issues or talks about his loss, is really quite unnatural. People want to Express their condolences, and not liking such records,” said Zuckerberg during the session of questions and answers with users in December 2014.

“We looked at what comments and reactions are most often universal and are repeated in Facebook, then worked on the design and I have experimented a bit for the sake of elegance and laughter,” said Chris Cox, responsible for the release of new products in the company. He hopes to use the experience began in Ireland and Spain experiment, to make a new product “available to everyone soon”.
