Apple took almost 80% of the profits in the smartphone market last year

Research Agency Strategy Analytics has calculated that the lion’s share of operating profit in the global smartphone market last year went to Apple.

If in IV quarter of 2016 the iPhone maker received 92% of the profits of the global mobile market, over the year the share of profit that belongs to Apple, was 79.2%.

All suppliers of smart phones in the period from January to December received approximately $53.7 billion in operating profit. In the “wallet” Apple went to $44.9 billion, or approximately 80% of the total.

Experts point out the amazing ability of the “Apple” giant minimize the cost of manufacturing equipment and to sell their products at high prices.

It is curious that, according to Strategy Analytics, the company Samsung, the world’s largest smartphone vendor in terms of quantity, received only $8.3 billion, or 14.6% of the profits in the smartphone market last year.

Third place went to Huawei with a share of 1.6%, behind which is located Oppo and Vivo, 1.5% and 1.3% respectively.
