Apple Maps cars spotted on the streets of Spanish cities

Apple continues to expand map coverage of different cities and towns around the world. Last week Apple Maps has added data on public transport in the Spanish capital, and now began collecting data for street view.

In a resource Applesfera had photos of Apple vans that roam in the streets of Bilbao city in the Basque Country, Northern Spain. By car you can see the words “Apple Maps” and the website address of the California giant.

Apple cars equipped with sensors, cameras and scanners, with which the company collects map data. On the roof of the car equipped with three cameras with 360 degrees to form three-dimensional panoramic images of streets. The edges are lasers, Lidar, fixing various road signs, barriers and other objects.

On the wagon wheel fixed rotation sensor is used in tandem with a GPS module for receiving data about the vehicle position.

According to Apple’s official website, the route of the special cars will run through the streets of Arratia-Nervión, Busturialdea, Duranguesado, Enkarterri, Uribe, Gran Bilbao and Lea Artibai.
