Apple launched the App Store in the fundraising campaign in favour of the world wildlife Fund (WWF)

On the eve of international Earth Day (celebrated April 22), Apple opened a new section with apps in the App Store. During the week a portion of the proceeds from the sales of these games and applications will be directed in favour of the world wildlife Fund (WWF).

“The planet needs your help. Let’s take care of it together with the App Store and the world wildlife Fund (WWF) is simple and fun. On April 24th, all proceeds from the sale of the apps participating in the program, and the special built-in shopping lists of important environmental initiatives of WWF. Together, we will achieve truly great results”, – reported in the Apple.

In the Russian App Store has 27 apps, including WWF Together, 2 Angry Birds, Candy Crush Soda Saga, Enlight, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Line, VSCO and others. “It’s a great collection of games and functional apps, with new content, dedicated to Earth Day,” said Oliver Susser, Apple’s Vice President and global head of iTunes. Russian ZeptoLab has released a special version of the game Cut The Rope: Magic, in which presents 50 new themed levels that celebrate Earth Day and wildlife conservation.

In Apple menu gives a link to the page of the official website, which lists its environmental initiatives. The company noted that they consider it their duty, creating great products, care about the planet.

“We are working with the Conservation Fund, creating and protecting the forest, similar to those we use in the manufacture of our packaging. We have developed the project of small hydroelectric power stations to ensure our data center in Prineville (Oregon). And we are building a solar power plant in China to offset the energy consumption of our offices and retail stores”.

The initiative was supported by Apple CEO Tim cook. In his microblog he wrote “Together, we can make the world better than when we came” and gave a link to the new App Store.
